Julie J. Prusak

2011 Phoenix Heart Ball Chairman


Since moving to Arizona in 2003, Julie has served as an active volunteer leader in community organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association /American Stroke Association Greater Phoenix Division and Ballet Arizona. She previously held officer positions on the boards of the Phoenix Symphony, National Charity League, Boy's Team Charity and the Women's Board of the Arizona Kidney Foundation. She has co-chaired several successful fundraisers, including the Opera Ball and Ballet Ball. Julie volunteers as a Girl Scout Leader and at the school that her three children attend. She has received several awards for community volunteerism, including 2009 Trendsetter and 2008 Spirit of Philanthropy Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Julie co-founded Ethos Consulting in 1992 to provide unique advisory services to corporate clients. She served both start-up and established companies and their financial backers to advise them in organizational performance. She conducted senior level executive searches for management consulting, investment banking, and consumer products companies, while serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Ethos. Currently, she focuses on serving non-profit organizations in Arizona.

Prior to Ethos, Julie was a Principal at Swander Pace & Co, a strategic management consulting firm that specialized in the food, beverage, and consumer products industries. While there, she provided services in strategy development, mergers and acquisitions, marketing, sales force effectiveness, and organization design. Earlier, she was an Associate with the San Francisco office of Booz-Allen & Hamilton in the Strategy and Information Systems Practices.

She began her career as the Export Sales manager of TEKNA Inc., a manufacturer of SCUBA equipment and Assistant to the President of HELIX, Ltd., a photographic wholesaler/retailer. She also was a certified SCUBA instructor for NAUI, PADI, and the YMCA.

She earned three degrees from Stanford University including a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Biology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology. She also holds a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America.

Lynne Love

2011 Phoenix Heart Ball Chairman-Elect


Lynne's community volunteer leadership in the Valley began with her move here in 1999. She is a member of the Xavier College Preparatory Board of Trustees, Co-Chairwoman of the Xavier Communication and Advisory Board, a member of the Arizona Women's Board and the Saks Style Council.

Lynne has served as chairman of numerous successful fundraising events in the Valley, including the Xavier Fashion Show, which she reformatted in 2007 with the help and addition of a professional runway show by Saks Fifth Avenue, and "Key to the Cure" at Saks Fifth Avenue. She has served in leadership capacities for National Charity League, the Honor Ball, Jewel Ball, Tucson Junior League, as well as other organizations. She has also volunteered extensively in support of her two daughters as an Odyssey of the Mind Coach, Book Fair Chairperson and Girl Scout Leaders. Lynne was honored for her commitment to community volunteerism as a "2009 Trendsetter" by Trends Magazine and the Trends Charitable Fund.

Lynne is the co-author of Volunteer Mom, a mainstream fiction novel inspired by her experience as a volunteer and mother. The book was written with her friend Michele Feeney, who she has known since her freshman year of college. She has written fiction for 11 years.

She co-founded La Plume, a design manufacturing firm of premium designer pillows and bedding, with nationwide distribution, based in Scottsdale and Savannah.

Lynne's professional experience is in advertising/marketing/public relations and media sales. She has worked in account services management, broadcast media sales and media buying. She began at Leo Burnett in Southfield, Michigan, working on automotive accounts such as Oldsmobile. She extended her career to Arizona as account supervisor for Weiss, Dubs and Tyau and as vice president of Kimura Bingham Advertising Design.

Lynne is originally from Michigan. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising/marketing from Michigan State University.

Susan Doria

2011 Phoenix Heart Ball Vice Chairman


Susan is delighted to serve as the 2011 Phoenix Heart Ball Vice Chairman. In addition to her Heart Ball executive leadership role, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Phoenix Public Library Foundation and Trends Charitable Fund. A recognized community servant, Susan has been involved with Valley Big Sisters, the Red Cross, the National Safety Council, the YMCA, Girls Scouts of America, HomeBase Youth Services, and Childhelp. She was profiled as a Phoenix Business Journal Valley Personality in 2006 and honored as a Trendsetter in 2008.

Professionally, Susan has extensive healthcare industry experience as a corporate executive and business consultant. Noted for her leadership in strategy, portfolio planning, business development and system integration, she has received national recognition for post-merger organizational development and brand marketing outcomes. Susan received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Masters of Health Services Administration from Arizona State University. She regularly serves as a mentor and guest speaker for educational programs across the Valley.

Personally, Susan shares a passion for design with her architect husband, Richard. In 1998, their remodeled downtown Phoenix historic adobe received the Phoenix Home and Garden Home of the Year and Valley Forward Best Historic Preservation awards. The Dorias regularly open new Biltmore area home for charitable events and community salons. A mid-century modern dwelling with environmentally sensitive features, it has been featured in numerous Valley publications. In addition to architecture, the Dorias enjoy cooking, fitness, theater and travel, including frequent trips to Disneyland with their daughter Triana.
 

Patricia Leach

2011 Phoenix Heart Ball Honorary Chairman


Patricia Leach has been involved in her community as a volunteer leader or nonprofit professional for over thirty years. She has served on a myriad of Boards and committees. Her special fondness is for those organizations that meet the needs of the underserved or have a direct and powerful impact on children. Pat was a member of the state and local Board of Directors for the American Heart Association, Arizona Affiliate, as well as serving in many national roles for the organization. In 1987, she was Chairman of the Phoenix Heart Ball.

In 1993, Pat conceived the idea of an interactive learning center to help children understand the importance of taking care of their hearts through nutrition and exercise. The Center opened in 1996 and has hosted approximately 25,000 visitors each year. In 2008, Pat was asked to lead the re-visioning of the Center, which resulted in the Halle Heart Children's Museum, which débuted in 2010. She is serving as Strategic Consultant for the Museum.

Pat was the founder of HomeBase Youth Services, an organization that was designed to benefit Arizona's homeless and runaway youth. Under her leadership, the organization grew into a nationally-accredited full continuum of care serving thousands of Arizona's homeless and runway youth.

Pat has received many local and national awards and distinctions. Her greatest joy, however, is being mother to David and Marc, who married astounding women. She has adorable six grandchildren who give her daily doses of pure joy and contentment.

Dana Jirauch

2011 Phoenix Heart Ball Sweetheart


Dana has been committed to the Phoenix community with over 29 years as a volunteer leader, serving on numerous boards and committees. Her work has encompassed such organizations as the Women's Board of the Arizona Kidney Foundation, Friends of Crisis Nursery, National Charity League, Desert Foundation Auxiliary, Pi Beta Phi sorority and the Phoenix Art Museum, where she has served as a Docent since 1993,and Docent Training Chairman in 2000 and 2001. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her charitable work.

Professionally, she owned and operated her own interior design firm for 29 years until joining the American Heart Association as Director of Major Gifts and Workplace Giving in 2009. She recently accepted the position of Executive Director for the Halle Heart Children's Museum, the only cardiovascular education center in the nation. Dana has been involved with the American Heart Association as a volunteer since 1986, serving in 1992 as the Chair of the Phoenix Heart Ball. She is honored to be Julie's "Sweetheart" this year.

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, she attended Arizona State University, receiving a degree in Business and later, Interior Design. She married Chuck Jirauch in 1980, and is mother to Melissa, Mathew and Katie. One of her greatest joys is her role as "Nonnie" to granddaughter, Madeline.
